The monthly energy charge for residential customers is now $0.1212 per kilowatt hour of metered energy use for all residential customers, inside and outside city limits. This is a $0.0058 per kilowatt hour increase from the former rate of $0.1154.
Rates for each category of electric users are available in the full ordinance, published here.
Electric rates per kilowatt hour have not increased since 2011.
October 1, 2024, rates will go to $0.1273 per kilowatt hour of metered energy use for all residential-class customers. This is a $0.0061 increase, or 5%.
There is no change to meter fees. For residential customers, these are $12 per meter for customers inside city limits and $20 per meter for customers outside city limits. All other meter fees are available here, in the City Code.
A Power Cost Adjustment (PCA), as provided in City Code section 15-231, is applied to all kilowatt-hours of metered energy use. The Power Cost Adjustment could result in an incremental charge or a credit for the month.
The PCA was changed to a different calculation by ordinance at the July 16th, 2024 Council Meeting as well.
