A localized electric outage occurred this morning, August 8, near Highway 56 and Wesley Street. This outage affected the businesses from 414 Ames to 400 Ames, as well as three homes north of those businesses. The electric crew received the call notifying them of the outage at 8:20am, and repaired the damage to an insulator by 8:55am, restoring power. The damage may have been caused by a lightning strike.
All electric usage per kilowatt hour rate categories are increased by 5% for usage beginning July 1, 2024, and again 5% on October 1, 2024 per City Council Ordinance.
