The electric department will be out throughout the night tonight, August 26th, doing the annual thermal imaging of all feeders in town.
They will be using orange UTVs marked City of Baldwin City on the side. Much like paranormal investigation, this work can only be done at night.
It's performed on a "peak load" night, with the aim of finding any hot spots on the equipment and fixing them before they become a problem. In Baldwin, our energy load "peaks," or hits its highest levels, usually shortly after Baker and USD348 start while it's still hot.
