The lake road that allows access to the east side of the City Lake received some much-needed attention last month. On March 10th, the old culverts under the roadbed finally rusted through and collapsed.  

Public Works ordered new culverts, dug up the roadbed, and replaced the collapsed culverts. Large riprap was added on the road banks to help keep it from washing out. The road was reopened to traffic on April 10th.

Notice in the picture below where the roadbed is cut down, you can see the old hand laid stones that formed the original crossing.
