The midwest is full of small towns with rich historical anecdotes. What makes Baldwin City different?

Baldwin City is a small, historic town of 4,700 people in Douglas County, KS, located along the Santa Fe trail route. There are two gas stations, one stop light, the first four-year co-ed university in Kansas, and enough community spirit and pride to go around for everyone.
