Ottawa Sanitation no longer picking up recycling in plastic bags

Effective immediately, Ottawa Sanitation will no longer be picking up recycling in plastic bags. The bags are not recyclable and can cause damage to the recycling machines.

You are welcome to purchase or reuse any container you like for recycling. Stickers are available for free at City Hall to designate the container of your choice. Paper bags are acceptable in place of plastic. This is for recycling only, trash pickup will remain the same as usual.
