Weekend Events in Baldwin City for May 6th

May 05, 2023

Return to Newsroom.

Plenty of fun and happenings in downtown Baldwin City this weekend!

Downtown is closed to traffic and parking beginning at 6am tomorrow morning (May 6th) until around 4pm. See map here for closure details, and please pay attention to posted signage.

The Baldwin City Recreation Commission is hosting the inaugural Thunder on the Bricks car show, with the public welcome beginning at 10am. The roads will reopen around 4pm, but the activities continue into the evening. See the event schedule or check the Rec's website for more details.

The Baldwin City Tree Board's annual tree give-away is also tomorrow, Saturday, May 6th, from 8am until 10:30am. Since High Street is closed for the car show, the trees will be available at the back side of Sullivan Square, near the back gate. The trees are small enough to carry. This year's selection includes two varieties of crabapples, American Linden, lilac bushes, a few oaks, and several ginkgos. The Tree Board requests a $5 donation per tree in order to replenish stock for next year. Tree Board members will be on hand to answer any tree questions you might have. For additional information or questions about the tree giveaway, contact Roger Boyd at [email protected] or 785-424-0595.
