Power Outage May 15th

Power was off for about two hours this morning, May 15th, between 8am and 10am, due to an area-wide outage likely due to the strong thunderstorms rolling through.

There is one isolated area off 11th street that may not be fully restored yet due to a downed line. If your power is still out and you are not in the area of 11th and Fremont, please call the outage number at 785-594-6907.

Following protocol, staff manually checked each power line to ensure safety before re-energizing the substation and restoring power. Other crews worked to clear downed trees from multiple streets in between storms. Working with trees and power lines while multiple lightning storms roll through is tricky. Safety comes first for us, always.
