Winter Storm Warning (again)

March 09, 2022

Return to Newsroom.

Ain’ no one want this, but here we are: At least four inches of snow on the way, Baldwin School District is closed for an extra “spring break snow day,” and ScoopDogg and Big Boss plows are ready to roll. So much for the blue skies smiling at us earlier today, it’s bread and milk time again.

A few housekeeping notes:

  • If you park on the street, please try to move your vehicle if at all possible so the plows can do their job. Especially if you live on a snow route — High Street, Lawrence Street, or 6th street. These routes get cleared first for emergency personnel.
  • Information on snow removal and procedures is here: [Baldwin City, Kansas](https://baldwincity.gov/index.php?section=police-news&prrid=118).
  • The roads inside town have all been treated this afternoon, and city crews are on stand by. They expect to clear the roads multiple times tomorrow.
  • Please be thoughtful of city workers and emergency personnel who often work long hard days during weather events in challenging conditions.
  • Stay home if you can, stay safe, stay warm, have a little fun and a little good food.
