Groundhog Day Postponed Indefinitely

ANNOUNCEMENT: Ground Hog Day in Baldwin City has been postponed indefinitely due to the weather.

Here’s a hyperlocal road report from Baldwin City Police Department this morning. 

“Roads were good most of the night but are getting progressively slicker as the storm continues. It’ll likely be hard for road crews to keep up with it at the rate it’s currently falling. I would suggest using extreme caution if people have to get out and drive, and make sure they leave early enough to account for slower traffic conditions.” —Officer Stephenson

Although the forecast is now adjusted down to 3-5 inches of snow, unpredictable and dangerous road conditions are still expected. Per Douglas County Emergency Management, snow is expected to continue through noon today, and then possibly more this evening and potentially into tomorrow.
