Around 4:25am Thursday, November 11th, power went out in Baldwin City due to a regulator fire on Evergy’s equipment outside town. The power surge caused our main breaker to open and locked it out. The on call city electric crew member had to come in and manually close the breaker once they were certain it was safe, connecting us to the back up feed from Ottawa, and restoring power around 5am. We are still on the Ottawa feed at this time. The switch back to the main Evergy feed from Gardner when the equipment is fixed should not be noticeable.
